How do you become a member of the Edom United Methodist Church family?

     If you are considering partnering with us in mission and ministry and joining our family of faith, we invite you to meet with our pastor to answer any questions that you may have.

     Each Sunday there is an invitation to Christian discipleship offered at the conclusion of the service.  During the singing of the hymn that follows, you are invited to come forward to the front of the church.  Once the hymn is concluded, you will be introduced to the congregation by the pastor, commended to the care of the congregation, and welcomed into our family of faith.

     If you have belonged to another church, the pastor will make arrangements by letter, to transfer your membership from your previous church to Edom United Methodist Church.

     If you are unsure of your previous church membership or if that membership has been terminated, you will be welcomed as a restored member to the church.

     If this is the first time for you to publicly profess your faith in Jesus Christ, you will be asked to accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  To join in this manner is to join on profession of faith.  If you have never been baptized, you will be baptized prior to being received into church membership.

     After you are received into the church, you are invited to proceed with the pastor down the main aisle to the sanctuary entrance.  We invite you to stay for approximately 15 minutes to meet and greet the other members in our church family as they leave and to have your picture taken.
